Urbano is London's leading independent business networking community, connecting companies of all sizes and sectors from PLCs to SMEs, in London, the UK and beyond.
Urbano hosts a calendar of different events each week, from speaker breakfasts to seminars and workshops, networking lunches and evenings, designed primarily to bring together those representing companies from our different business Communities: Build, Media, Finance, People, Host, Tech, and UWACTE (Urbano Women In Architecture, Construction, Technology and Engineering). We usually do this but now exclusively online.
On Sunday May 10th, the Prime Minister laid out the government's plan and timetable for putting the country back to work whilst still fighting the effects of the Covid-19 virus on the country. This event will specifically examine how the new regulations/advisory elements will need to be addressed by employers with workforces in office environments.
Our speaker panel line-up will feature an office/workplace design expert - Christian Logue from Sagal Group, and an employment law specialist - Meredith Hurst, Head of the employment department at Thomas Mansfield.
Hosted and facilitated by Mark Herring, Urbano's Connector-In-Chief, this online event will look at three common office layouts and their different dynamics: the open plan office, the office with meeting rooms and shared areas, and the co-working hub.
All three variants have shared and discrete issues. To illuminate them, we will look at the five pressure/pain points in office spaces during the working the day from an employee and an employer perspective:
Reception
Desk
Shared spaces
Meeting rooms
The event will also examine where the responsibility for enforcement and the duty of care lies at every stage within an office environment.
This event took place on May 27th. Register through the booking link to get sent the presentation.

More about Urbano Network
Since Urbano began in 2011, we have had a proud track record of championing opportunities for women, especially in historically male dominated industries and sectors, such as construction and engineering. To develop deeper connections between women in SMEs and larger companies: UWACTE (Urbano Women In Architecture, Construction, Technology & Engineering*) where women in Urbano member firms can develop and enhance their connections across our network.
As part of our proactive approach to helping members find new business opportunities, we send out a weekly Tenders & Opportunities Notice gathered from over 100 keywords relevant to our pan-sector membership (Build, Finance, Host, Media, People & Tech).
