Consumer regulation is set to undertake a dramatic change this year and it is vitally important for RPs to be aware of this.

We previously had to postpone our 11 July session focusing on changes to the new consumer regulation regime as the draft consumer standards had not yet been published and the Social Housing (Regulation) Bill had not yet not received Royal Assent. We are aware that the timescale for this is now likely to be before the end of July and so we have rescheduled this event to 16 August 2023. At this webinar we will look at the key provisions of the revised consumer standards and their impact. We will be discussing what the new regime will look like, ways in which organisations should be getting ready, and gain some insight into what some RPs are already doing. This will include thoughts from the Regulator on the new regime and pilot inspection programme, and also thoughts from RPs who took part in the pilots.

Angela Holden, Assistant Director of Consumer Regulation. Angela led on the pilots and so will be able to provide some useful insight.

Jenny Allinson, Director of Corporate Governance at Bernicia and Emma O’Shea, Chief Operating Officer at Aster Group. Both Jenny and Emma were heavily involved in the pilots that their organisations went through.
