Routes to real estate - How far has the housing industry come on gender-balance?

It is now widely recognised that women make up only a small percentage of those working in the housing industry, particularly in senior or leadership positions. In recent years, positive steps have been taken to make the sector more gender-diverse, but what more can be done to foster and encourage female representation?

This year's theme for International Women's Day is 'Accelerating Action' which places emphasis on strategies, resources, and activity that positively impact women's advancement.
 
Ahead of International Women's Day, Trowers & Hamlins and NHBC will be hosting a joint panel discussion and networking event aimed at bringing together influential figures in the housing industry to discuss their career path and ways in which female colleagues in particular can be supported in their progression.

The panel will include:

• Baerbel Schuett, Director of Development, Wates Residential
• Jacqueline Esimaje-Heath, Growth Director, L&Q
• Mike De’Ath, Partner, HTA Design
• Poly Bradshaw, Development Manager, Man GPM

The event will take place at Trowers' London office, with arrival from 3.00pm for a panel session at 3.30pm followed by networking and drinks until approximately 5.30pm.
