London networking event - Urbano Media Networking Event

Our next Urbano Media networking event is a networking breakfast taking place in London on Thursday November 28th and features guest speaker Daisy Goodwin, TV Producer, novelist, poet and founder of Silver River Productions.

Urbano Media events are aimed primarily but not exclusively at those in the creative sectors, such as advertising, branding, marketing, film, TV, visual and graphic, web and design industries - and also those who supply these sectors.

About our speaker
Daisy Goodwin attended Columbia Film School after gaining a degree in History at Cambridge University and began her TV career at the BBC as an arts producer. Whilst at the BBC, she made films about literary figures, and devised Bookworm and The Nations Favourite Poems Initiative and the hugely successful shows Looking Good and Home Front.

Daisy's TV production credits spread across the BBC, Channel 4 and Five read like a roll call of lifestyle TV and include Jamies Kitchen, House Doctor, Grand Designs, Property Ladder How Clean Is Your House?,

She founded Silver River in 2005 which is now a leading independent production company that makes award-winning factual, features, arts, documentaries, entertainment and comedy. Silver River's credits include Fit To Rule - How Royal Illness Changed History, Nick & Margaret: We All Pay Your Benefits and Edwardian Supersize Me with Giles Coren and Sue Perkins.

Daisy will talk about her experience of TV production and the skills needed to run a creative business in such a cut-throat sector, the issues facing independents inside production and the new realities of a future which itself is seeing pressures on its traditions and timetables from the internet, multi-TV channels and mobile.

8:00am – Registration, coffee, pastries and networking

8:25am – Presentation by Daisy

9:00am – Informal and facilitated networking
