VAT taxation of digital services from 1 January 2015
On 1 January 2015, HMRC will bring in changes to the VAT place of supply of service rules for intra-European Union (EU) business to consumer supplies of broadcasting, telecommunications and electronic services (also known as 'BTE').
These changes will affect all businesses that supply BTE services to consumers whether they are registered for VAT or not.
Our seminar will cover the following topics
- An explanation of the changes, their scope and what they will mean for technology businesses
- The practical challenges businesses will face, in terms of identifying customer locations and dealing with multiple VAT reports.
- The new Mini One Stop Shop, scheme, how it works, the additional reporting requirements, its limitations and the risks.
- How these changes will impact companies outside the mainstream technology sector.
Speakers: Adrian Houstoun, VAT Partner and Geraint Lewis, VAT Principal - Kingston Smith
Date: Wednesday 20 August 2014
Time: 5.30pm registration, 6.00pm start. Ends 7.15pm, followed by canapes and refreshments
