London networking event - Urbano business networking event with Duncan Hine

Urbano Network hosts a varied calendar of weekly London networking events, including networking breakfasts featuring invited speakers, with high-profiles in their own sectors, whose opinions matter and are shaping the landscape in which we all do business.

Urbano speaker breakfasts are stripped down conferences, featuring great speakers, allowing attendees to discuss the issues featured in the guest presentation and plenty of opportunity to network with the speaker and the other attendees, drawn from across a range of sectors and specialities.

About our speaker
Duncan Hine is a cyber security advisor to the government and advisor on industrial espionage and counterfeiting. He and his team designed the UK passport in use today.

Duncan is an engineer with a PhD in electronics with a keen interest in innovation and security. He established the innovation programme at The Post Office when he was CTO.

He then joined QinetiQ, a company formed from the UK’s military research establishments where he led the security division for 3 years before moving to be director of the ventures unit.

He is currently the Executive Director of Integrity and Security for the UK passport service and is responsible for security in the introduction of a new UK identity card. Duncan has number of non-executive directorships in the medical and security sectors and is a visiting professor at Warwick University.

Duncan's presentation will cover cyber security and look at the security issues  currently facing businesses (and those that lie ahead), plus potential solutions. This topic will hopefully attract a diverse audience of technical and security practitioners and also those whose roles and responsibilities mean they need to be aware of the issues, such as HR, finance, and data-based industries.

Format

8:00am – Registration, coffee, pastries and networking

8:25am – Presentation by Duncan, followed by Q&A

9:15am – Further coffee, informal and facilitated networking
10.30am
