Chancellor George Osborne unveiled plans in his Summer Budget to change the way dividends are taxed for the first time in many years. He also announced changes to the ways in which rental properties will be taxed.

In terms of dividends under the new rules everyone will receive £5,000 tax free allowance but those who receive more than £5,000 in annual dividends will pay tax on that income at higher rates than before.  This could have a significant impact on many shareholders of small & medium sized companies  and may require new strategies in relation to their drawings.

Join us at this complimentary event on 25 September when our tax team will be looking at these changes in greater detail and considering the implications.
