The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming into effect on 25 May this year. Since being announced in April 2016, many organisations have tried to come to terms with what the GDPR means and how it will affect their organisation. The main implications being how we approach new contacts, best ways of gaining consent and how to manage data to effectively avoid data breaches.
Last year we hosted a series of successful GDPR webinars to educate businesses and not-for-profits. This year we want to extend our efforts by offering a workshop to help your organisation make the final preparations before the big change in May.
In our workshop we will also be joined Paul Gibbons who has over 20 years’ experience working in information management and has previously worked for UK Parliament, Greater London Authority and local governments.
Join us and you’ll find out:
- Overview of the GDPR
- Gaining consent
- Opting in and opting out
- Data subject rights
- Privacy impact assessments and practical application
- How to train your workforce on GDPR
- GDPR in practice; real-life case studies
- Roadmap/agreed next steps for attendees
