Where are we now and where are we going? Critical construction issues.
This virtual workshop where we will address the critical issues facing the construction industry now. There is talk of insolvencies being on the rise. How can parties protect themselves? What have we got in the armoury? This practical workshop will explore the key issues and potential solutions. We will be looking at bonds, guarantees, retention of title and the nuclear option of termination. We will also have some further thoughts on Brexit.
By working through practical examples, attendees will leave with knowledge which will benefit their business, as well as an understanding of the commercial drivers of other involved parties. We will have breakout rooms where you can explore these issues with others in the construction industry and a dedicated construction lawyer.
Who should attend?
The workshop, hosted by our team of construction lawyers, is aimed at asset owners and managers, developers, investors, the professional team, contractors, sub-contractors and suppliers.
What will be covered?
- Payment regimes and notices – the importance of getting it right and the things to look out for
- Termination
- Bonds and guarantees – key considerations when negotiating
- Retention of title – who owns what? Construction and fit-out – procurement, insurance and key design and construction issues
- Brexit
We may go off on a tangent and explore other related issues too!
Those who regularly attend our events will know that after the presentation there is a chance to chat through any issues over a glass of wine. While the technology will not unfortunately stretch to this, there is an opportunity in the registration form to put further questions or raise any practical issues of concern that you may have and we will look to include these in the scenarios.
