About Trowers & Hamlins LLP

Trowers & Hamlins is an international law firm with offices throughout the UK, Middle East and Far East.

In the drive to attract and retain the best talent, the benefits of building an inclusive, authentic and engaging workplace are clear.

The inclusion survey we at Trowers & Hamlins published last year highlighted that, whilst 80% of organisations reported inclusion as being a focus area, most were still in the early stages of developing strategy. The survey also confirmed that, with each employer being different with a different set of inclusivity goals, the lack of fixed playbook can prove challenging.

We're here to support you. Last year our Trowers Tuesday 'Summer of Inclusivity' received huge amounts of positive feedback and engagement – so much so that we are bringing it back for 2023! We'll be sharing legal insights and thought leadership on the key issues we've been discussing with HR and people professionals, in-house counsel and other business leaders:

  • 20 June – Supporting and empowering older employees
  • 27 June – Understanding neurodiversity in the workplace
  • 4 July – Managing the changing landscape of gender identity and trans-rights
  • 11 July – Creating a family friendly culture for parents and would-be parents.

As ever, you'll have the opportunity to ask us your burning questions live and we'll be joined by guest speakers who will share their own experiences and tips. So please bring your colleagues and join us -  we'd love to see you there!

Details of the sessions are listed below and they are all at 11:30am - 12:15pm:

20 June – Supporting and empowering older employees

With staff and skills in short supply, it's crucial that employers understand how to attract older employees into the workplace and retain their experience. We'll be exploring howage-inclusivity can make your organisation stand out, as well as ways to support older employees through tricky phases of life, such as menopause and caring responsibilities.

27 June – Understanding neurodiversity in the workplace

Many employers can feel worried about opening up discussions about neurodiversity in the workplace due to lack of understanding. We'll be discussing useful resources, ways to approach the dialogue with confidence and how to pave the way towards creating a neuro-inclusive environment for all.

4 July – Managing the changing landscape of gender identity and trans-rights

With the conversation around gender identity and trans-rights ever developing, employers can be unduly focused on potential conflicts and risks.  We’ll be looking at ways to approach the topic in a positive light; implementing meaningful support and respectful practices to ensure that all employees feel seen, heard and valued.

11 July – Creating a family friendly culture for parents and would-be parents

The pressures faced by parents and would-be parents in today's working world, including the current cost of living crisis, can have a negative impact on performance and wellbeing. We'll be sharing tips on how to create an environment that supports employees at every stage of their family journey and offers practical help for individual challenges.
