Charlotte teaches and mentors at Doug Richard's School 4 Start ups and Peter Jones Enterprise Academy. She is author of 'The Handbook of Entrepreneurial Marketing' and created The Rainmaker Foundation to help charities raise funds using digital media. She will be sharing her inspirational story which stems from a fatal and tragic coach crash she was involved in as a teenager, includes supporting her best friend when he returned from Afghanistan after stepping on an IED and changing her life as she evolved from an overweight sofa slob to a 30k runner in three months to raise funds for charities close to her heart.

Karen Darby

Founder of

Crowd Mission

www.crowdmission.com

Karen Darby is a successful social entrepreneur with a classic 'rags to riches' story. One of five children, Karen grew up on a council estate in Mitcham and left school at 16 with one GCSE. She has since gone on to set up a number of companies including Decisions Group, Call Britannia and SimplySwitch. The latter was sold to the Daily Mail & General Trust for £22m. Regarded as one of the top female entrepreneurs in the UK, Karen was inspired to set up CrowdMission following a number of negative experiences with venture capitalists. Her goal is to offer social entrepreneurs an attractive alternative to VC funding and the inflexible, controlling conditions that often come with it.
