Genesis Development and The Success Group take great pleasure in inviting you to their event on the 28th June for an evening full of discussion, debate and interesting findings on the topical subject of overcoming Gender Inequality in the Workplace.

They will share their 2011 Women in Business research, which explored the tools and techniques used by senior women to overcome the many challenges of gender imbalance. This will be followed by a Q&A session comprising a panel of four highly accomplished female executives from different industries:
Technology –Mary Hensher, Head of Information Systems, Cancer Research UK
Financial Services – Michelle Aylott, Human Resources Director, Barclays Capital
Consumer – Alison Bourne, Head of Executive Development, Associated British Foods
Public Sector – Ronke Lawal, Chief Executive, Islington Chamber of Commerce

Come to this seminar to learn how to:
Understand and manage the barriers to female career progression.
Understand and deal with unconscious bias.
Consider why female characteristics are a valuable career asset.
Work effectively with male executives.
Ensure visibility through leadership and teamwork.
Agree what steps should be in place to maintain the career focus.

6:00 – 6:45 pm - Canapés, Drinks and Networking
Canapés, drinks and networking will kick the evening off and will include a wine from a female wine producer and distributed by The House Wine, a wholly owned female wine club targeted at women.

6:45pm – 7:15pm - Research Findings
David Milnes, Head of Research, Genesis Development will present their inspiring Women in Business research based on a qualitative study conducted in 2011 with senior female executives based in the UK and globally.

7:15pm – 8:00pm – Panel Q&A
With the help of questions submitted by attendees to their panel of leading commentators they’ll also be discussing some wider issues such as:
How much emphasis should be placed on organisations and how much is ultimately up to the individual?
Must employers and females recognise that men and women have a propensity to be different in how they approach their careers?

Facilitation
The forum will be facilitated by Karen Parker from The Success Group. Karen is a former member of the IBM UK Executive Leadership Team and has an active association with International Women of Excellence (IWE), which is a non-profit organisation committed to helping professional women realise their full potential in the corporate world.
