Abouit Jessica Teague - Audit and Advisory Partner at ECOVIS Wingrave Yeats

I joined Ecovis in 2010 as a graduate trainee in the firm’s business advisory department and quickly progressed to become an Audit Partner in under 10 years. I have spent the majority of my career focusing on audit, compliance and technical accounting matters, however, I did spend 7 months on secondment at FTSE 250 listed insurer Hastings Direct, assisting the Group Financial Reporting function in steering the business through its IPO.

The majority of my role is spent focusing on audit and compliance. I aim to take the worry away from my clients and make the year end compliance process as pain free as possible. During the audit, we focus on project management and communication, so all stakeholders are kept informed and updated, which ensures there are no unforeseen issues, surprises or missed deadlines. We also are able to be flexible to help clients as needed.

I often works alongside ECOVIS International network firms and am a member of the audit team that deal exclusively with UK subsidiaries of US public companies that are subject to PCAOB oversight. As a result, I have had to build my technical knowledge of US GAAP, US GAAS and PCAOB Standards.

As a training firm, Ecovis recruit numerous graduates and school leavers each year. I assist with recruiting trainee and experienced staff and ensuring a level playing field is afforded to all candidates. I also have responsibility in delivering training and development across the firm in areas including, compliance, technical, the firm’s policies and procedures and soft skills. I have also delivered technical training and workshops to clients and member firms of ECOVIS International.

My interests lie within technical accounting and audit. I also strive to ensure that the firm provides a quality service to all clients and continues to maintain its excellent compliance record.

I love the people and the culture here. It’s great to work with so many intelligent, inspirational and driven individuals. I feel that everyday I am able to learn something new from the people I work with, but also have common interests and enjoy spending time with people socially as well. I also enjoy the clients and businesses I work with. My client base spans a variety of industries and my portfolio of clients also includes a range of international groups, UK subsidiaries of overseas listed entities, media companies and owner-managed businesses. Every day is different, every day is a challenge and that’s why I love my job.
