Lambeth Palace provides a unique setting in the heart of London for hosting an event. The Palace has an in-house catering team and a network of preferred event suppliers. Registered charities and third sector organisations will be given priority when booking events at Lambeth Palace, and may be eligible to hire rooms at a discounted rate.

The Guard Room
Redesigned in 1836 by celebrated architect Edward Blore, the Guard Room dates back to the 14th Century and retains its original arch-braced roof. On display in this room are portraits of Archbishops of Canterbury dating from 1602 to 1783.

Capacity: 

• Dinner: 80 people
• Canape party or standing buffet: 150 people
• Conference or meeting: 100 people

The State Drawing Room
Situated in the 19th Century Blore Building, the State Drawing Room has occasional seating and views across the gardens. An 18th Century painting of Canterbury Cathedral dominates the room, along with portraits of Charles I, Sir Robert Walpole and Thomas Cranmer.

• Canape party or standing buffet: 80 people

The Atrium
Designed by Richard Scott Architects, the Atrium was opened in 2000. On display you will find artwork by Paul Hobbs.

The Atrium has level access and an interconnecting door to the 14th Century Crypt, now used as a Chapel.

Capacity: 

• Conference: 30 people
• Canape party or standing buffet: 60 people

Christmas at Lambeth Palace
Lambeth Palace hosts a range of events during the year including Christmas. We have an in-house chef and catering team, creating delicious menus using sustainable ingredients. We have rooms of various capacities where we can accommodate receptions, meetings and dinners from two to 250 people.
