About Bethan
Bethan Weir is known for her solution driven advice which is clear and helps drive projects forward. She is an advocate of the vital role which understanding the history of a site plays in ensuring its sustainable future.
One of Bethan's key skills lies in extracting information from documentary sources, coupled with on-site analysis of built fabric in order to fully understand where a building’s significance lies. Her background working with Historic England means that she has a great deal of experience applying this within the legislative framework when considering proposals for change.
Bethan advises on a wide range of matters relating to development within the historic environment and has experience working with private and public body clients on a variety of projects, including the preparation of due-diligence reports for the sale and purchase of listed buildings, heritage impact assessments and heritage, townscape and visual impact assessments.
Prior to Smith Jenkins, Bethan worked at JLL Heritage for 5 years, having previously been with the North East and London offices of Historic England, where she spent a number of years as a project co-ordinator managing a large number of Historic England and Heritage Lottery Fund funded projects.
